A moderate solar wind shock was observed at 16/2250UT, indicative of
the arrival of a halo CME first observed on 14-Sep. G4 planetary
geomagnetic conditions have been observed on UT day 17-Sep, Australian
conditions have remained at G0. Further periods of G3-G4 planetary
geomagnetic conditions on 17-Sep are possible. Solar activity is
expected to be at R0-R1 levels. S0 solar radiation storms are
expected, with a chance of S1. HF radio communication conditions are
expected to be mostly fair. Maximum useable frequencies (MUFs) are
expected to be near predicted monthly values to 15% depressed.
Shortwave fadeouts are possible.
