Solar activity on UT day 17-Aug is expected to be at R1-R2 levels. The
solar wind speed was initially light, increasing to moderate in the
second half of the UT day. HF radio communication conditions are
expected to be mostly normal, becoming fair late in the UT day. G3
geomagnetic conditions have been observed on the planetary level, with
G1 conditions observed in the Australian region, these conditions are
expected to ease over the remainder of 17-Aug. Maximum usable
frequencies (MUFs) are expected to be 15-25% above predicted monthly
values. Isolated shortwave fadeouts are probable.
