A small geomagnetic storm occurred yesterday afternoon (Sydney local
time) and the activity decreased throughout the evening hours. This
small storm may have been caused by a glancing blow from a weak
Coronal Mass Ejection observed late on 17 March. The solar wind is
expected to remain moderate during the next 24 hours. The geomagnetic
conditions are expected to remain quiet. Solar flare activity has been
low to moderate and is expected to decline during the next 48 hours.
However, a moderate solar flare is in progress at the time of this
report and short-wave radio fadeouts are possible.
