The sunspot group responsible for recent solar flare activity is
disappearing on the western limb of the sun and the few remaining
sunspot groups are relatively inactive. Some moderate solar activity
may still occur but solar activity is presently expected to return to
unusually low levels for solar maximum before the next active group
appears. The solar wind is presently light to moderate and the solar
wind speed may increase slightly later in the day due to minor coronal
hole effects. Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet and are expected
to remain quiet with brief periods of unsettled conditions possible
later in the day. High-frequency radio communications have been close
to normal but may soften as the solar UV radiation level decreases in
coming days. A short wave fadeout is still possible until the most
active sunspot group completely disappears behind the western limb.
