SUBJ: ASWFC GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 25/72
ISSUED AT 0508UT/30 SEPTEMBER 2025
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE.

The interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) has gradually increased 
in magnitude and the north south component has become increasingly 
negative or southwards in orientation, a state associated with 
increased geomagnetic activity and the planetary geomagnetic 
field has reached G1 for the first Kp period and G2 for the second 
Kp period on 30-Sep. The Australian regional geomagnetic field 
has remained at G0 so far on 30-Sep. The cause of the enhancement 
to the IMF and southward orientation is unclear.
