About ips-geo-warning | |
ASWFC Geophysical Warnings forecast significant levels of geomagnetic activity. They are generally issued when the ASWFC Duty Forecaster expects a Kp of 5 or more. The decision to issue a warning is at the discretion of the ASWFC Duty Forecaster. The data used to produce this disturbance forecast comes from a subjective assessment of recent solar activity obtained from Bureau and USAF solar observatories and freely available Internet space based resources (eg SOHO/STEREO satellite(s) coronagraph imagery).
