COMMENT: Solar flare activity on UT day 09-Sep was at the R0
level, with no notable solar flares. There are currently eight
numbered sunspot regions visible on the solar disk. Active regions
(ARs) 4525 (N11W03, beta) and 4527 (N03E07, beta) showed small
amounts of spot development over the UT day, but remain small
and magnetically simple. All other regions are small, simple
and either stable or in decay. R0 solar flare conditions, with
a chance of R1 due to ongoing C-class flaring are expected over
10-12 Sep. S0 solar radiation storm conditions were observed
on UT day 09-Sep and these conditions are expected to persist
over 10-12 Sep. No Earth directed CMEs were observed on UT day
09-Sep. An east directed CME is visible in SOHO and STEREO-A
coronagraph imagery from 09/1112UT. This is considered to be
a far side event and not geoeffective. The solar wind speed was
steady over the UT day. The wind speed mostly ranged between
385 km/s and 470 km/s and is currently at around 440 km/s. The
peak total interplanetary field strength (IMF, Bt) was 10 nT
and the north-south IMF component range (Bz) was +6 to -7 nT.
The solar wind speed is expected to generally decline towards
background levels over 10-12 Sep. A slight, temporary increase
due to a small equatorial coronal hole is possible over 10-11.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

COMMENT: G0 geomagnetic conditions were observed at the planetary
level and in the Australian region on UT day 10-Sep. Periods
of G1 were observed in the Antarctic region. G0 geomagnetic conditions
are expected over 10-12 Sep.

COMMENT: HF radio propagation conditions on UT day 09-Sep were
degraded at all latitudes in the northern hemisphere in the first
half of the UT day, due to recent geomagnetic activity. Conditions
eased towards the end of the day. Mostly normal HF propagation
conditions are expected over 10-12 Sep, with mild degradations
possible in the northern hemisphere on 10-Sep as previous storm
events wane.
