COMMENT: Solar activity on UT day 28-Aug was R0, with no solar
flares. There are currently five numbered sunspot regions on
the solar disk, however all are stable. Active region (AR) 4513
(N04W45, beta) has significantly reduced in complexity. Solar
activity is expected to be R0 over 19-31 Aug. No Earth directed
CMEs were observed on UT day 28-Aug. S0 solar radiation storm
conditions were observed on UT day 28-Aug. S0 solar radiation
storm conditions are expected over 29-31 Aug. The solar wind
environment on UT day 28-Aug was mildly disturbed towards the
end of the day, possibly due to the anticipated CME arrivals
from 1400 UT, although the signature is not strong. The solar
wind speed ranged from 250 to 380 km/s. The peak total interplanetary
field strength (IMF, Bt) was 14 nT and the north-south IMF component
range (Bz) was +10 to -13 nT. Several periods of southward Bz
were observed towards the end of the day. Some intermittent coronal
hole connections are possible over 29-31 Aug to briefly enhance
the solar wind speed, but in general the solar wind is expected
to be near background levels.

well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

COMMENT: G0 geomagnetic conditions were observed on UT day 28-Aug
in the Australian region. G0-G1 geomagnetic conditions were observed
in the Antarctic region. Mostly G0 geomagnetic conditions are
expected on UT day 29-Aug, with possible periods of G1 due to
ongoing disturbed solar wind conditions. G0 geomagnetic conditions
are expected over 30-31 Aug.

COMMENT: HF radio propagation conditions on UT day 28-Aug were
mostly normal, globally. HF radio propagation conditions are
expected to be mostly normal over 29-31 Aug, with some degraded
conditions possible near local dawn hours on 29-Aug due to current
disturbed solar wind conditions.

COMMENT: Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) in the Australian
region on UT day 28-Aug were mostly near predicted values to
15% enhanced. Conditions were degraded in Darwin during local
dawn hours. Scintillation was observed in Niue at 1618 UT. MUFs
are expected to be near predicted values over 29-31 Aug, with
10-15% enhancements possible by 30-Aug.
