COMMENT: Solar flare activity on UT day 27-Aug was at the R0
level with several C-class flares, the largest of which was a
C5.2 at 27/0141UT from Active Region (AR) 4513 (N04W25, beta-gamma-delta).
There are currently five numbered sunspot regions visible on
the solar disk. Region 4513 is the most magnetically complex
region on the disk and exhibited decay over the past 24 hours.
All other regions are either stable or in decay. Solar flare
activity is expected to be at the R0 level over 28-30 Aug, with
a chance of R1 due to the magnetic complexity of AR 4513. S0
solar radiation storm conditions were observed on UT day 27-Aug.
S0 solar radiation storm conditions are expected over 28-30 Aug.
No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed
over the UT day. A halo CME was observed in GOES19 CCOR-1 coronagraph
imagery from 27/1800UT. This CME is considered a farside event
and is therefore not geoeffective. The solar wind speed on UT
day 27-Aug declined, ranging between 275 and 250 km/s, and is
currently near 255 km/s. The peak total interplanetary magnetic
field strength (IMF, Bt) was 5 nT and the north-south IMF component
(Bz) range was -2 to +3 nT. The solar wind speed is expected
to increase on 28-Aug due to the arrival of two CMEs first observed
on 25-Aug and remain elevated over 29-30 Aug.

COMMENT: ASWFC Geomagnetic Warning 52 was issued on 26 August
and is current for 28 Aug only. G0 geomagnetic conditions were
observed in the planetary, Australian and Antarctic regions on
UT day 27-Aug. G1 planetary geomagnetic conditions are expected
on 28-Aug, with a slight chance of G2 due to the arrival of two
CMEs first observed on 25-Aug. G0 planetary geomagnetic conditions
are expected over 29-30 Aug.

COMMENT: HF radio propagation conditions on UT day 27-Aug were
normal. HF radio propagation conditions are expected to be normal
to fair over 28-Aug due to anticipated geomagnetic activity,
becoming mostly normal on 29-Aug and 30-Aug. Isolated minor shortwave
fadeouts are possible.
