COMMENT: Solar flare activity was Low for the UT day, 11 December.
The largest flare was a C5.6 from active region 2465 (S06E16).
No Earth-directed CME expected, note limited LASCO imagery available
at this time. Expect Low solar activity over the next three days
with a slight chance of M-class flares. ACE spacecraft shows
a solar wind speed varying between 600 and 700 km/s over the
last 24 hours. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic
field ranged between +/-5nT over the last 24 hours. Expect the
solar wind to gradually decline over the UT day, 12 December.

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 11 Dec :
      Darwin 0 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)
      Learmonth 2 (Quiet)

      Gingin 59 (Unsettled)
      Canberra 71 (Active)
      Melbourne 109 (Major storm)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Date Ap Conditions
12 Dec 10 Quiet to Unsettled
13 Dec 6 Quiet
14 Dec 6 Quiet

COMMENT: Geomagnetic conditions for the Australian region were
Quiet to Unsettled during the UT day, 11 December with a few
isolated periods of Active levels due to an elevated solar wind
speed. Expect conditions to slowly return to mostly Quiet levels
during the UT day, 12 December.
