SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 18/2330Z APRIL 2004 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 18 APRIL AND FORECAST FOR 19 APRIL - 21 APRIL
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:GREEN MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 18 Apr: Very low
Flares: none.
Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 18 Apr: 109/59
1B. SOLAR FORECAST
19 Apr 20 Apr 21 Apr
Activity Low Low Low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 115/66 115/66 120/72
COMMENT: Solar activity was low over the past 24 hours. Solar
wind speed gradually declined from 400km/sec to 340km/sec at
16UT and then rose slightly to 360km/sec. The North/South magnetic
component of the interplanetary magnetic field went slightly
southward at 6UT and 12UT with a maximum of -5nT, before returning
to average nuetral fluctuations from 14UT onward. Region 596 appears
to have increased in size.

of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3 indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3 indices for that station.
