On UT day 14-Feb solar activity is expected to be R0-R1. A S2 solar
radiation storm is in progress with a declining trend and is now at
S1. The solar wind speed has been light to moderate. The expected
increase to strong solar wind conditions associated with an
anticipated CME arrival did not eventuate. The solar wind speed is
expected to light to moderate with a chance of becoming strong if the
expected CME arrives later today. G0 conditions were observed on
13-Feb. G1, with the chance of G2 conditions are possible for today.
HF radio communication conditions are now generally expected to be
normal. Maximum usable frequencies are expected to be mostly to near
predicted values to 15% enhanced. There is a chance for degraded HF
conditions tonight. Antarctic region HF communications are improving
as ionospheric absorption from the solar radiation storm declines.
Isolated shortwave fadeouts possible.
