Solar activity on UT day 03-Sep has been at R1. Geomagnetic activity
reached G1 overnight on 02-Sep. The planetary Kp reached G2 early on
03-Sep and conditions now appear to be declining, with Australian
regional activity at G0. It is possible that the solar wind on 02-Sep
was disturbed due to a combination of coronal hole wind stream and the
anticipated CME's weak indistinct transient. The solar wind speed is
now expected to be moderate on 03-Sep, with a chance that the CME may
still arrive and the subsequent chance of further G1-G2 levels.
Southern Australian region maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) are
depressed 15-30% so far on 03-Sep and are now recovering. Northern
Australian region MUFs are normal to 15% enhanced. Further ionospheric
depressions/degradations may be experienced on 04-Sep if further
geomagnetic activity eventuates on 03-Sep.
