rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Mon May 20 09:45:41 EST 2013

A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) that occurred on 17-May arrived at Earth
23UT on 19-May, producing a sudden impulse in the geomagnetic field.
As a result, geomagnetic conditions 20-May are expected to be Active
with possible Minor storm periods, and degraded HF conditions are
expected throughout the day with some depressions of the Maximum
Usable Frequency (MUF) overnight and into tomorrow. Previously active
solar region 1748, which produced the 17-May CME, is now in decline.
Flare activity is expected to be Low to Moderate, with the chance of
X-ray flares above M-class. Further fadeouts are therefore possible.
