rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Mon May 20 09:42:40 EST 2013

The CME from 17-May arrived at 23UT on 19-May, producing a sudden
impulse in the geomagnetic field. Geomagnetic conditions 20-May are
expected to be Active, with possible Minor storm periods. As a result,
degraded HF conditions are expected throughout the day, with some
depressions of the Maximum Usable Frequency (MUF) overnight and into
tomorrow. Previously active solar region 1748 (which produced the
17-May CME) is now in decline. Flare activity is expected to be Low to
Moderate, with the chance of X-ray flares above M-class. Further
fadeouts are therefore possible.
