1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 22 Dec: Very low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 22 Dec: 71/6

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             23 Dec 24 Dec 25 Dec
Activity Very low Very low Very low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 72/8 72/8 72/8

COMMENT: Solar activity was Very Low for 22Dec. There are currently
no sunspots on the visible disk and no active regions are expected
to rotate onto the visible disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were
observed in available coronagraph imagery. The solar wind speed
ranged between 309km/s to 395km/s over the UT day. The north-south
component of the IMF (Bz) fluctuated between +4nT and -3 nT.
Solar wind speed is expected to remain at background/ambient
levels for the next 2 days with the chance of becoming elevated
late in the UT day 24Dec or early 25Dec due to a high speed solar
wind stream from a southern hemisphere located negative polarity
coronal hole. Very Low levels of solar activity are expected
for the next three days.

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 22 Dec :
      Darwin 0 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)

      Canberra 0 (Quiet)
      Melbourne NA

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
