SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 2330UT/25 FEBRUARY 2015 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 25 FEBRUARY AND FORECAST FOR 26 FEBRUARY - 28 FEBRUARY
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:GREEN MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 25 Feb: Very low

Flares: None

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 25 Feb: 117/75

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             26 Feb 27 Feb 28 Feb
Activity Very low Very low Very low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 117/75 117/75 117/75

COMMENT: Very low levels of solar activity have been observed
over the last 24 hours. Due to the effect of a coronal hole,
the solar wind stream still remains strengthened. Solar wind
speed mostly varied between 440 to nearly 500 km/s today. The
Bz component of IMF varied approximately between +/-5 nT during
most parts of the day today. This coronal hole effect is expected
to keep the solar wind stream strengthened for one more day.
Solar activity is expected to stay at very low levels for the
next three days.

      Casey 15 34433222
      Mawson 13 33333331

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 25 Feb :
      Hobart 22 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Darwin 14 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)
      Learmonth 0 (Quiet)
      Alice Springs 0 (Quiet)
      Gingin 23 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Canberra 32 (Quiet to unsettled)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 25 Feb : A
           Fredericksburg 10
           Planetary 12

Observed AFr/Ap Indices 24 Feb : A K

2B. MAGNETIC FORECAST
Date Ap Conditions
26 Feb 7 Quiet to Unsettled
27 Feb 4 Quiet
28 Feb 4 Quiet

COMMENT: Mostly quiet to unsettled levels of geomagnetic activity
were observed today. Geomagnetic activity may be expected to
stay at quiet to unsettled levels on 26 February and then gradually
decline to quiet levels on 27 February and stay mostly quiet
levels on 28February as the coronal hole effect is expected to
gradually weaken further through 26 February.
