1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 09 May: Low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 09 May: 152/107

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             10 May 11 May 12 May
Activity Low Low Low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 150/105 155/109 160/114

COMMENT: Solar activity was Low during the UT day, 09 May, with
minor flaring from active regions 2055, 2056, and 2058. Expect
solar activity to remain Low with a slight chance for an M-class
flare from active region 2058. Partial halo CME was noted on
LASCO C2 and C3 imagery starting at 0248UT. This CME was associated
with Type II/IV sweeps, however is not expected to be geo-effective
as activity occurred around the west limb. The solar wind speed
ranged between 350 and 400 km/s over the last 24 hours and interplanetary
magnetic field Bz component ranged between +/-6nT. Expect these
conditions to prevail over the next 24 hours.

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 09 May :
      Darwin 2 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)

      Canberra 0 (Quiet)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
