COMMENT: Solar activity was moderate over the last 24 hours,
with an M1 flare from an unnumbered region (S10E76) at 13/0520.
A type II radio sweep with an estimated shock speed of 450 km/s
was observed accompanying a ~C5 flare probably from region 2227
(S04W71) at around 13/2200 UT. Any ejecta are likely to be directed
too far west to be geoeffective. The solar wind speed declined
from around 600 km/s to around 500 km/s. Solar activity is expected
to be low to moderate for the next 3 days.

Estimated Antarctic Regional K Indices 13 Dec :
      Macquarie Island 9 23214212
      Casey 34 56633224
      Mawson 34 35434365
      Davis 28 34545244

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 13 Dec :
      Darwin 31 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)
      Learmonth NA
      Alice Springs 0 (Quiet)
      Gingin 27 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Canberra 14 (Quiet)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

COMMENT: Geomagnetic conditions were mostly quiet across the
Australian region on 13-Dec, with periods to storm levels in
the Antarctic. Mostly quiet conditions conditions are expected
for the next 3 days across the Australian region, with conditions
remaining more active at high latitudes.
