1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 08 Apr: Very low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 08 Apr: 93/38

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             09 Apr 10 Apr 11 Apr
Activity Very Low Very Low Very Low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 95/41 95/41 95/41

COMMENT: Only B class X-ray events were observed today. No large
or magnetically complex regions are on the disc. No new regions
were numbered today. Solar activity is expected to be predominately
Very Low for the next 3 days. Solar wind speed remained low at
between 340-380Km/s. The IMF Bz fluctuated between +/-2nT for
most of the reporting period. A possible glancing blow from the
CME observed on April 5 may elevate slightly the wind speed and
density early day 1 of the forecast period.

      Davis 11 23422231

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 08 Apr :
      Darwin 0 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)

      Canberra 14 (Quiet)
      Hobart 0 (Quiet)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.

Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 08 Apr : A
           Fredericksburg 6
           Planetary 6

Observed AFr/Ap Indices 07 Apr : A K

2B. MAGNETIC FORECAST
Date Ap Conditions
09 Apr 10 Mostly Quiet with the slight chance of isolated
                Unsettled to Active levels.
10 Apr 7 Quiet
11 Apr 7 Quiet

COMMENT: Geomagnetic activity has been at Quiet levels for the
Australian region during 8 April, with some Unsettled and Active
levels observed at high latitudes. Geomagnetic activity is expected
to be predominantly Quiet over the next few days. There is the
small chance of isolated Unsettled to Active levels with possible
glancing CME impact early on day 1 of the forecast period.
