SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 03/2330Z APRIL 2006 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 03 APRIL AND FORECAST FOR 04 APRIL - 06 APRIL
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:** YELLOW ** MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 03 Apr: Low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 03 Apr: 100/48

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             04 Apr 05 Apr 06 Apr
Activity Low to moderate Low to moderate Low to moderate
Fadeouts Possible Possible Possible
10.7cm/SSN 100/48 100/48 100/48

COMMENT: Solar activity over the last 24 hours was low. GOES
spacecraft shows two C-class flares over the last 24 hours. One
from the region 10867 which appears to developing quickly in
complexity and the other from region 10865 which has a complex
magnetic field, beta-gamma/delta magnetic class. Expect solar
activity to increase over the next 2-3 days, low to moderate.
Isolated M-class flares are possible. Solar wind velocity remains
at 280 km/s. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic
field has been mostly northward and less than 5nT.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3 indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3 indices for that station.
