2. FORECAST (31 JULY - 06 AUGUST)
Solar:
Solar flare activity is expected to be at the R0-R1 level over
31-Jul to 01-Aug, due to the large number of sunspot regions
on the disk. This will decrease to R0, with a chance of R1,
over all other days this week as several of these regions
rotate off the front side of the disk.
Geomagnetic:
G0 geomagnetic conditions are forecast for 31-Jul G2-G3
conditions are forecast over 01-02 Aug due to the glancing
impact of a CME first observed on 30-Jul. G0, with a chance
of G1 conditions are forecast on 03-Aug as these effects
subside, with G0 forecast on all other days this week.
Frequencies:
Maximum Usable Frequencies (MUFs) in the Australian region
are forecast to become depressed over 02-03 Aug due to
forecast geomagnetic activity, with 15-20% depressions
forecast. MUFs near predicted monthly values on other days.
