Predicted Monthly T index for December: 89

Comment: A G3 geomagnetic storm that was expected on
09-Dec has failed to eventuate. It is considered
that there is only a slight chance for weaker geomagnetic
activity to now eventuate on 10-Dec, with an Earth miss of
the CME considered the more likely scenario. Australian
regional MUFs were 15% depressed during the local day on
04-Dec in association with mild geomagnetic activity from
a coronal hole wind stream.

2. FORECAST (10 DECEMBER - 16 DECEMBER)
MUFS:
MUFs generally near predicted monthly values.

Propagation conditions: Fair on 12 Dec during local
night hours. Otherwise normal. Isolated SWFs possible.

T index: 100

ASWFC Preliminary HF Communications Warning 117 was issued on
6 December and is current for 9-10 Dec. ASWFC SWF HF Communications
Warning 120 was issued on 9 December and is current for 9-11
Dec.

3. OUTLOOK (17 DECEMBER - 16 JANUARY)
Degraded HF propagation conditions possible:
22-26 Dec, 30 Dec to 1 Jan

PLEASE NOTE:
Space weather conditions can frequently be determined by short
timescale events that cannot be forecast a week in advance,
particularly at solar maximum.
