*estimated from real time data
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
G2 geomagnetic activity is expected on 06-Nov, with a chance of G3.
G3 activity is expected on 07-Nov. G1 activity is expected on 08-Nov.
G1 activity is possible on 09-Nov. This anticipated activity is due to
ongoing coronal hole high speed wind stream effects combined with an
anticipated CME impact on 07-Nov at 0200UT +/- 9 hours. G0 conditions
are currently expected over 10-12 Nov.
2. FORECAST (06 NOVEMBER - 06 DECEMBER)
Disturbed Periods:
06-09 Nov, 13-15 Nov, 24-30 Nov and 02-04 Dec.
Best Quiet Periods:
11-12 Nov, 17-23 Nov, 01-Dec and 06-Dec.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 06-08 Nov.
Best Quiet Periods: 10-26 Nov, 28-Nov to 02-Dec, 06-Dec.
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 06-10 Nov, 16-Nov, 27-28 Nov, 04-05 Dec.
Best Quiet Periods: 12-15 Nov, 17-26 Nov, 30-Nov to 02 Dec.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 06-11 Nov, 14-17 Nov, 20-Nov, 25-29 Nov, 03-05 Dec.
Best Quiet Periods: 13-Nov, 19-Nov, 21-24 Nov and 01-Dec.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
