Solar activity on UT day 02-Jan is expected to be at R1, chance R2
levels. S0 solar radiation storm conditions are expected. The solar
wind speed is initially expected to be light to moderate then becoming
strongly enhanced from mid to late 02-Jan due to a glancing blow CME
arrival. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be initially G0, then
reaching G2 during the second half of the UT day. HF radio propagation
conditions are expected to be initially normal, then becoming fair to
poor toward the end of the UT day. Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs)
in the Australian region are expected to be mostly near predicted
monthly values to 15% enhanced, becoming depressed and degraded late
in the UT day. Isolated shortwave fadeouts are possible.
