[Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre]

Solar activity on UT day 01-Jan is expected to be at R1-R2 levels. S0
solar radiation storm conditions are expected. The solar wind speed is
expected to be light to moderate. The anticipated CME arrival on
31-Dec has failed to eventuate. A glancing blow from an east directed
semi-halo CME associated with an R2 (M7) flare is expected on 02-03
Jan. HF radio propagation conditions are expected to be normal.
Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) in the Australian region are
expected to be near predicted monthly values to 15% enhanced. Isolated
shortwave fadeouts are possible.
