Solar activity on UT day 12-Nov is expected to be at R2-R3 levels. A
strong shock in the solar wind was observed at 11/2338UT, indicative
of a CME arrival. The solar wind speed is expected to be very strong.
G3-G4 geomagnetic storm conditions are currently being observed. G4
geomagnetic conditions are expected on 12-Nov, with a chance of G5 due
to the expected arrival of a halo CME first observed on 11-Nov. S2-S3
solar radiation storm conditions are expected. Global HF radio
propagation conditions are currently degraded, with degradations
expected to continue over the UT day. Maximum usable frequencies in
the Australian region are expected to become depressed by 40-50%.
Shortwave fadeouts are probable. Visible auroras are possible in mid
to southern parts of Australia.
