On UT day 17-Jan solar activity is expected to be R1, chance R2. A
solar region has rapidly emerged just to northwest of the centre of
the solar disk and is magnetically complex. Another solar region in
the southeast solar quadrant is developing. S0 solar radiation storm
conditions are expected. The solar wind is expected to be moderate due
to a coronal hole wind stream. G0, chance G1 conditions are expected.
Maximum usable frequences are expected to be 15% depressed to near
predicted values in the Australian region. HF radio propagation
conditions are expected to be fair to normal, with degraded conditions
during local night hours and after local dawn. Isolated shortwave
fadeouts are possible.
