On UT day 05-Jan solar activity is expected to be R1-R2. A solar
region in the northeast solar quadrant is currently flare active. The
solar wind speed is expected to be moderate due to a coronal hole high
speed wind stream. An S1 solar radiation storm began at 04/2220UT.
G0-G1 geomagnetic conditions are expected. HF radio propagation
conditions are expected to be fair, with poor conditions at high
latitudes due to increased absorption. Maximum usable frequencies in
the Australian region are expected to be depressed by 15-30% follwoing
overnight geomagnetic G1 storm activity. S1 solar radiation storm
conditions are expected. Shortwave fadeouts are probable.
