On UT day 07-May solar activity is expected to be R2, with the chance
of an R3 flare. There are currently two large magnetically complex
sunspot regions on the solar disk. The recent R3 (X4.5) flare observed
at 06/0635UT, did not appear to be associated with a significant
coronal mass ejection. The solar wind speed is expected to be
moderate. Geomagnetic activity is expected to be G0, with a slight
chance for G1 due to the influence of a coronal hole wind stream. S0,
with the chance of S1 solar radiation storm conditions are expected. A
shortwave fadeout was observed in association with the R3/X4 flare. HF
radio communication conditions are expected to be normal. Maximum
usable frequencies are expected to be near predicted values. Shortwave
fadeouts on daylight HF circuits are probable.
