Solar activity on UT day 28-Aug is expected to be at the R1 level,
with a chance of R2. A previously flare active solar region is
returning to the solar disk. A slow CME shock was observed in the
solar wind enhancing solar wind conditions, in particular the
interplanetary magnetic field (IMF). The enhanced IMF subsequently
became increasingly southward in orientation from 27/1850UT and this
southward orientation has increased and persisted into 28-Aug. The
planetary geomagnetic field has now reached G2 for the period
28/00-03UT. The Australian regional geomagnetic field has so far
remained at G0. The solar wind speed is expected to be light. G1
geomagnetic conditions are expected early in the UT day then declining
to G0. HF radio communication conditions are expected to be fair to
normal. Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) are expected to be near
predicted monthly values to 15% enhanced. Shortwave fadeouts are
possible.
