Solar activity on UT day 13-Aug is expected to be at R1-R2 levels. The
solar wind is expected to be moderate to strong with an overall
declining trend. The solar wind has been enhanced due to recent CME
arrivals. Planetary G4 conditions were observed on 12-Aug and G3
conditions observed in the Australian region. G2-G3 periods are
expected early in the UT day on 13-Aug, with geomagnetic activity
expected to decline to G1 by the end of the UT day. Aurora sightings
have been reported. S0 solar radiation storm conditions are expected.
HF radio communication conditions are expected to be degraded for the
southern Australian region with depressed maximum usable frequencies
(MUFs) of up to 30%. Northern Australian region MUFs are expected to
remain near normal. Shortwave fadeouts are possible.
