The solar wind speed has remained light, however the orientation of
the north-south component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF)
has become increasingly southward. Geomagnetic G1 periods are now
possible later today if this southward orientation of the IMF
persists. On UT day 04-Aug solar activity is expected to be R1-R2. The
solar wind speed is expected to be light to moderate. G0-G1
geomagnetic conditions are expected due to possible weak CME arrivals.
S0 solar radiation storm conditions are expected. HF radio
communication conditions are expected to be fair to normal, with fair
conditions during local night hours. Maximum usable frequencies are
expected to be near predicted values to 15% enhanced. Shortwave
fadeouts are probable.
