Fri Jan 4 10:24:00 EST 2019
Very low solar activity with a small chance for C-class flares is
expected for UT day 4 January. The solar wind speed is expected to
remain near its background level at the beginning of the UT day 4
January, then it may increase up to moderate levels due to expected
arrival of the corotating interaction region and high speed solar wind
streams associated with a recurrent coronal hole. Geomagnetic activity
in the Australian region is expected to be at quiet to unsettled
levels. High-frequency radio communication users are advised to use
predicted monthly frequencies or slightly lower frequencies because
mild ionospheric depressions are possible due to relatively low levels
of ionising radiation from the Sun.
