Fri Jan 6 10:44:12 EST 2017
Very low solar flare activity is expected for today, 6 January. Very
strong solar wind. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be mostly at
unsettled to active levels due to the recurrent coronal hole. However,
there is a chance that minor storm levels may be reached.
High-frequency radio communications are fair. High-frequency radio
communications users are advised to use lower than monthly predicted
frequencies today because the ionosphere is under the influence of the
very strong solar wind and the HF conditions may be further degraded.
Aurora sightings possible from Tasmania.
