The solar flaring activity is again expected to be at very low levels,
today (30 September). The effects of the large positive polarity
coronal hole is expected to persist for few more days and as a result,
the solar winds are expected to remain at very high levels of greater
than 700 km/s. Yesterday, when the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF)
turned southward at around 0800 UT, a short-lived major storm
condition eventuated. Similar geomagnetic conditions are expected for
today. Thus there is again chance that aurora may be visible at the
local night from Tasmania and parts of Victoria, Australia. HF
conditions are expected to be strongly depressed in the mid- and high
latitudes, today.
