Fri Apr 29 09:52:37 EST 2016
Low solar flare activity. The solar wind speed is currently light but
is expected to increase due to anticipated arrival of a Solar Sector
Boundary Crossing and the influence of a coronal hole high speed wind
stream from later on 29 Apr. This should increase geomagnetic activity
from the current Quiet conditions, possibly to Minor Storm levels. HF
propagation conditions have been degraded at low latitudes, with
depressed maximum useable frequencies. These depressions are likely to
continue over the next few days with periods of disturbed ionospheric
support for high latitudes. There is a chance of aurora sightings
(visibility permitting) from Tasmania 30 Apr 1 May.
