Thu Apr 7 10:55:56 EST 2016
Solar activity on UT day 6 April was at very low levels with two weak
C-class flares. The solar wind has been at moderate level of ~400 km/s
in the past 24 hrs. The solar wind conditions are expected to enhance
slightly over the next 24 hours in response to a small recurrent
southern hemisphere coronal hole moving into a geoeffective location.
Two CME, both possibly front-side events, had been observed over the
last 48 hrs. Based on the location and trajectory of the CMEs, there
is a small probability that these might arrive at Earth on UT day 09
Apr and early on 10 Apr, respectively. More updates on these events
will be provided soon. The geomagnetic conditions are expected to
remain at mostly quiet to unsettled levels today (7 April), but at
times could reach active levels. High-frequency radio communications
conditions are expected to be mildly depressed to near predicted
monthly values today, 7 April.
