[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 11 November - issued 2339UT/10-Nov-2015 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Wed Nov 11 10:39:35 EST 2015

Low solar flare activity is expected on 11-Nov. The solar wind is very
strong, due to the continued effect of a northern hemisphere coronal
hole. Geomagnetic conditions reached active levels across Australian
region on 10-Nov (with some storm periods in Tasmania). Mostly quiet
to unsettled conditions are expected for 11-Nov. High-frequency radio
communications are poor to fair at mid to high latitudes, with
significantly depressed maximum useable frequencies. Aurora sightings
are possible from southern Australian regions during local night on
12-Nov, due to an expected increase in geomagnetic activity from
combined CME and coronal hole effects.
