There are presently two minor sunspot groups located on the visible
disk. Solar activity has been very low and is expected to remain low
during the next 48 hours. A coronal hole has rotated through the
geoeffective position and a high speed solar wind stream is expected
to arrive at Earth during the next 12-24 hours. This may lead to
unsettled to active geomagnetic conditions during the next 48 hours.
Depending on the orientation of the interplanetary magnetic field,
there is a chance of a minor geomagnetic storm with aurora visible low
on the horizon from Southern Tasmania. High-frequency radio
communications have been depressed at low latitudes and normal or
slightly depressed at mid latitudes. Further depressions are likely,
especially at low latitude stations.
