Solar flare activity is currently low, with a chance of moderate
activity. Minor coronal mass ejection effects are in progress from the
11-Apr event. This caused a recent step up in the solar wind speed to
moderate. Geomagnetic conditions are at quiet levels but storm level
periods are expected during the day. High-frequency radio
communications are normal but degraded conditions are expected later
in the day. There is a chance of Aurora sightings from southern
Tasmania during local night-time 14-Apr, though geomagnetic activity
might have abated by then.
