SUBJ: ASWFC GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 24/61
ISSUED AT 2256UT/06 OCTOBER 2024
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE.

At least one coronal mass ejection arrived at Earth from 06/0651 
UT. The first 15 hours of this CME's passing had mostly northward 
magnetic field orientation, hence no significant geomagnetic 
activity was observed. However, from 06/1958 UT the magnetic 
field has been southward. As a result, G1-G2 geomagnetic activity 
is possible on 07-Oct, possibly continuing into 08-Oct.

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED 
DUE TO CORONAL MASS EJECTION
