SUBJ: ASWFC GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 24/39
ISSUED AT 0605UT/04 AUGUST 2024
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE.

The solar wind speed has been light at around 350km/sec over 
the past 24 hours. However the north-south component of the solar 
winds interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) has become increasingly 
southward orientated since approximately 04/0100UT. Geomagnetic 
G1 periods are now possible later today if this southward orientation of 
the IMF persists.

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED
