SUBJ: SWS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 17/45
ISSUED AT 0126UT/12 SEPTEMBER 2017
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.
A recurrent positive polarity Northern hemisphere coronal hole
will soon reach geoeffective location on the solar disk. A possible
corotating interaction region associated with the coronal hole
is expected to effect earth from late UT day 12 September. On
the subsequent two days (13 - 14 September) very high solar wind
streams are expected to emanate from the coronal hole. Active
conditions may occur at earth provided IMF Bz turned strongly
southward for a prolonged period. There is some chance that the
aurora may be visible on the local night of 13 September from
Southern most regions of Australian.
