SUBJ: SWS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 16/19
ISSUED AT 0227UT/14 MAY 2016
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.
The solar winds are expected to gradually increase starting on
late UT day 15 May in response to a large positive polarity northern
hemisphere coronal hole moving into a geoeffective location on
the solar disk. The geomagnetic conditions on the 15-16 May could
at times reach minor storm levels. In the previous rotation,
this coronal hole caused AP to reach 21 nT. Similar and maybe
slightly stronger effects are expected during this rotations.
The aurora may be visible from as low as some parts of the state
of Victoria, Australia, on the local night of 15-16 May.
INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED
DUE TO CORONAL HOLE HIGH SPEED WIND STREAM
FROM 15-16 MAY 2016
