SUBJ: IPS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 01/08
ISSUED AT 28/2304Z MARCH 2001
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.

CORONAL MASS EJECTION EVENTS WERE OBSERVED ON 28 MAR. EVENTS 
APPEARED TO BE OF WEAK TO MODERATE STRENGTH. TWO SHOCKS 
ARE NOW EXPECTED TO ARRIVE IN THE WINDOW 30/1400UT TO 
31/1100UT. 

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED
FROM 29-31 MARCH 2001

GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY FORECAST 
29 Mar:  Unsettled to active
30 Mar:  Initially unsettled, then increasing to active to minor 
	 storm levels in second half of UT day.
31 Mar:  Active to minor storm levels decining in activity
	 towrd end of UT day.

There is a chance for isolated major storm periods during local
night hours during interval 30-31 MAr.
