COMMENT: Solar flare activity on UT day 28-Jul was at the R0 
level, with only C-class flares observed. There are currently 
six numbered regions visible on the solar disk. Active Region 
(AR) 4498 (N15E66, beta) is the largest region on the disk and 
has exhibited mild growth in its trailer spots over the UT day. 
Newly numbered region 4499 (N04E34, beta) has shown spot development 
over the 24-hour period. All other regions are either stable 
or in decay. Solar flare activity is expected to be at the R0 
level over 29-31 Jul, with a chance of R1. S0 solar radiation 
storm conditions were observed on UT day 28-Jul. S0 solar radiation 
storm conditions are expected over 29-31 Jul. No Earth-directed 
coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been observed. The solar wind 
speed on UT day 28-Jul was mostly stable, ranging from 360 to 
405 km/s and is currently near 370 km/s. The peak total interplanetary 
magnetic field strength (IMF, Bt) was 9 nT and the north-south 
IMF component (Bz) range was -4 to +6 nT. A southern hemisphere 
coronal hole is currently crossing the central meridian, but 
is considered too far south to influence the Earth. The solar 
wind speed is expected to remain near background levels over 
29-31 Jul.

COMMENT: G0 geomagnetic conditions were observed in the Australian 
and planetary regions on UT day 28-Jul. Mostly G0 geomagnetic 
conditions were observed in the Antarctic region, with an isolated 
period of G1 observed at Mawson. G0 planetary geomagnetic conditions 
are expected over 29-31 Jul.

local night hours. MUFs are expected to be near predicted monthly 
values to 15% enhanced over 29-31 Jul.
