SUBJ: ASWFC AURORA WATCH
ISSUED AT 0032 UT ON 06 May 2023
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE
Several recent CMEs are expected to impact Earth over 06-07 May and
forecast to result in geomagnetic activity. Two coronal hole high
speed wind streams are expected to further contribute to geomagnetic
activity over this period and result in possible visible auroras. The
forecast indicates 07-May may be the best night to see visible
auroras, with weaker sightings possible on 06-May. Locations that may
see auroras include Tasmania and southern Victoria.
Aurora alerts will follow if significant geomagnetic activity actually
occurs
