FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

Yesterday's aurora watch warning has been extended by one day due to
the late arrival of the CME effect. The earth is currently under the
influence of the full-halo CME triggered by a M1.6 flare occurring on
October 09/0638 UT. The global Kp index is expected to reach 5 (G1
storm), with a chance of 6 (G2 storms). On the local night of 12
October aurora may be visible from Tasmania and the coastline of
Victoria. Aurora alerts will follow if significant geomagnetic
activity actually occurs.
