SUBJ: IPS AURORA WATCH
ISSUED AT 2310 UT ON 07 Oct 2013 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
A Coronal Mass Ejection is expected to impact the Earth with an
estimated arrival time in the early part of the day on the 10th of
October UT (in AEDST, sometime after around midday on the 10th of
October). The arrival time has a high degree of uncertainty. This is
expected to be a direct hit, however the observed CME was small so the
chance of producing significant auroral displays are not high, however
it is a possibility. Aurora alerts will follow should favourable space
weather activity eventuate.
